I am expecting an offer from Citadel Securities for a senior SWE position. Is it reasonable to ask for 600K recurring with 4+ yoe? Or can I ask for more? How is the culture in the market making side? I heard some good words from interviewers but so sure if they really mean it or it’s very team specific. Current TC: 450K at FANG. Not at Dropbox.
First year comp you can definitely beat 600k. After that it’s performance dependent, there are no guarantees. If your performance is good then your comp should only increase each year.

Not unless you shit the bed. Most people would be fine unless you lied about your experience or something.
You can ask for 900 and get it. Not a big deal. You can get fired in 3 months, not a big deal. Choose, wisely.

Trading industry is different from big tech. You won’t get guarantees on how much recurring you’ll get But I would say if your performance is good you can expect to get more than your first year comp in general
