So Citadel is moving to Miami. A bunch of other tech and financial companies have moved. Are the Bay Area and NYC toast? Miami - Tons of crypto startups - Founders Fund among VCs - Bunch of other hedge funds besides Citadel - JPMC Wealth Management - Low taxes, low visible crime
Violent crime is definitely higher in Miami.
Than Chicago?
If you stay out of the ghetto it's pretty good
Don't they need office close to stock exchanges to have low latency ?
Servers are inside the exchange, people can be anywhere
The servers are Colocated in the exchange data center. For example the exchange data center in chicago is actually out in the suburbs now. They would need some data center ops people but the traders and engineers could be anywhere.
If youโre making Citadel money, you can afford to send your kids to private school / live in gated communities. I agree though, South Florida is definitely a bad deal for families who are not making 400k+ and care about raising educated children.
Anywhere in the USA is generally a bad deal for middle class earners
Yes. Source: Tom Brady moved to Florida, Florida is now the new NYC
Someone sounds jealous and angry! Itโs ok you can stay in your high tax, high crime, LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ paradise!
Could you enlighten me on what crypto companies / crypto-bros you are talking about in Miami? Haven't really heard of that before and can't find much either.
Mostly Founders Fund people
They probably want to milk the low IQ crypto bros
You'd know all about low IQ milking
