With the shitty new deferred comp policy that they implemented after I joined, you wonβt get much more than $400k per year as a SWE. I left Bloomberg for Citadel and donβt recommend it.
Whatβs the deferred comp policy?
It used to be that they invested a large portion of any TC over $400k into the fund, and you got it paid out 3.5 years after receiving your annual bonus regardless if you left Citadel for any reason or were still there. Then they changed it so that you had to stay at Citadel for 3.5 years to get it, and practically no one stays that long. In my dept of 25 people, there were 3-4 who had stayed for 2+ years. Even rockstars often leave after 2 years or less. Citadel is a sweatshop and the TC hourly rate is bad. EDIT: for this reason, many of Citadelβs TC figures on comp.fyi are artificially inflated and misleading. $600k per year actually amounts to <$450k with the new deferred comp BS.
What team are u in? Just wonder
