Have offers from both and I'm having trouble deciding where I want to go. I don't particularly care about intern salary, but if you're interested: Microsoft - 7366/month + housing Citadel - 3000/week + housing So, a few things I'm worried about: 1. Resume brand. If I end up not liking Citadel and want to move to tech, would I be able to get a good amount of responses from faang/unicorns for new grad recruiting? I feel like this wouldn't be a problem if I went to Microsoft. 2. Culture/WLB. I'm young so I don't mind working around ~50 hours/week, but I don't want to be in a super high pressure environment. I heard Citadel is super cutthroat, competitive, and just has a toxic culture in general, which scares me if I were to go full time there. Meanwhile Microsoft seems to be the exact opposite in this regard. 3. Money. Citadel obviously pays way more than Microsoft for both intern and full time, but don't know if I'm willing to forego the latter points for money. I've never had an internship in any of these industries so I'm honestly not sure what I even want which is why I'm doing internships in the first place. Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks! #citadel #microsoft
This forum is TC-obsessed. We will all recommend citadel. 3 months of sufferring for a lifetime flex, it's a really impressive name to have.
Look at everyone suffering at Amazon for the FANG brand name. Amazon isn't even FANG.
Eh, im currently sufferring at Facebook. Its not fun here either lol
Come to the dark side š Edit: Iām joking, but my biased opinion would be take citadel
Do you think someone like me who is not super confident in their abilities but is a hard worker could survive at citadel? I feel like the culture would chew me up and throw me out lol
Anyone with Yukino as their username will thrive here On a more serious note, worst case you don't get a return offer. No downside taking it as an internship imo and seeing what it's like; you'll _very_ likely be able to get a full time offer from big tech if that's what you want later
you donāt know shit about your abilities yet, so you may as well try
You are still young OP, hands down go with the Citadel. If things didn't work out, you have truck loads of companies to try. Brand factor of Citadel will open up many future opportunities than MSFT.
Gj, worst case take the better pay for the summer and then go to a lowly place like google or msft if u want wlb
I would agree with Snapchat. For internship, go for citadel. Take return offer and use it to negotiate with tech companies. They may not match 100% (cause everyone knows how temporary citadel tc is), but can surely make you a better offer.
Intern at citadel and full time at FAANG. Citadel internship has a lot of perks. Itās unreal.
Citadel is a toxic game for adults only
how long did it take for you to receive onsite results? my recruiter keeps pushing the schedule back
how is this even a serious question? if you wonāt like citadel, youāll get new grad interviews at faag easily
