Deciding on a return internship offer from Citadel vs an offer from Two Sigma. Mostly hoping to optimize for learning and TC on a potential full-time return offer since this will be my last internship. Any thoughts? Citadel: 15k bonus + 3k / week Pros: Comp (for internship and likely a return offer), project selection priority, more likely to be in person Two Sigma: 12.5k bonus + 2.7k / week Pros: WLB, new experience/company on resume, slightly more difficult to get into (?) #citadel #citadelsecurities #twosigma #twosigmacareers #internship #swe
Make a poll OP But citadel The average person at Citadel is a type-A, “get this shit done” type of person you want to be around. The average person at Two Sigma is more laid back and leaves work at 5 pm. This is reflected in the internship and full-time TC.
Do Two Sigma in the summer and citadel in the fall
This is not a bad idea. I’d do two sigma in the winter and citadel in the summer though. Doing citadel in the fall might be too late for a return offer.
Two sigma doesn’t do off season internships....but why would citadel in the fall be too late for a return offer? (I’m talking about fall 2021 btw, right after summer 2021)
In comparison to Citadel, Two Sigma has had a bad year. It's going to take a while for them to spring back, so I'd say choose Citadel. The pay is higher and it's approximately as difficult to get a job there compared to Two Sigma.
Citadel (securities) has great performance in recent years while Two Sigma is not making money.

I’d go with two sigma. There’s value in exploring different companies when it’s easy to do so. Internship compensation should not factor into your decision making because the purpose of internships is not to optimize TC.
Wouldn’t he miss out on Citadel’s insane new grad return offer though? The difference is 100k+
How much more is the typical new grad return offer than the new grad non-return offer at citadel?
