Hey a little bit my background 10y exp in risk and reg reporting, master degree Recently external recruiter reached out for a svp role and I asked for dir role. So I applied both and interviewed a Director level with the MD then 2nd round and feedback from HR is most likely would be svp role. In my current role, not DIR but up for promotion next year so biz case is pretty solid. Current comp is 180k base plus 25k bonus plus 10k pension Shoot for 230k base plus whatever bonus if svp role. Or 250k for DIR No counter offer yet, I may ask my current firm to match but who knows Based on my current research, seems SVP is 200k (2020info) or I saw 210k. Any new info about SVP cap for base? Thanks

Citi VP on reg reporting side recently got 160k base salary
Thanks for the data point. I’ll let you guys know once I hear from them.
So the external recruiter who brought me in just called saying the best they can do is 220k base. I have to see it on paper and my threshold is 230k as incentive to move. I’ll give some thinking and make the decision.
totally random, but how did you like Sumitomo? I interned there many many years ago and it was kinda shitty because of all Japanese people centric kinda atmosphere. Just curious how full-time employee felt about it
Not too bad actually. Yes a lot of Asian folks but the management has various of backgrounds, but higher management are Japanese only. It is a bit outdated from process to infrastructure but because of this, it has a lot of opportunities such as this transformation that transformation…you get the idea, once you own something highly likely you can build your biz case for promotion. So there are always pro and con and I think this place is no difference than any other banks.
One week later still HR is saying offer letter on the way…told the outside recruiter that not interested in the SVP role, the 30-40k increase is not good enough given that my work schedule is very very flexible in my current work and I own the team but if I switch, I am more of an individual contributor. I hear from svp to director in citi is not that easy. I think too risky to change in my promotion year. I’ll ask them again for the director role and that’s about it.
I walked away from a citi SVP offer they maxed me at 200k w/ 40k bonus. I tried to counter and they wouldn’t budge. Good luck and keep us posted.
Thanks for the datapoint
Was the 40k bonus - sign on? Or guarantee? I’m trying to get a sign on bonus but getting push back
Citi SVP 200k was for NYC I presume
They can provide 220k for this role, but for me I’ll pass
Is risk and reg reporting a controller role?
