Hi I am currently working at Citi in their Credit Lending Business, I have two offers to choose from 1- Citi VP $140K Base ( NYC) Pros: Stable Job Good work life balance Cons: No green Card process No pay bump 2- Barclays AVP $135K Base (NYC) Pros: Green Card within one year Cons: Same position Less Pay No sign on bonus/ Relocation ( Chicago to NYC) Thanks! #riskmanagement #lending
Take VP promotion at Citi now and be on the lookout for VP positions from other banks so you get a nice bump, otherwise be ready to sit on AVP for 2-3 years at Barclays
Get Citi VP and ask for GC after 6 months if they don’t give then leave, keep interviewing
Green card trump's any salary ..get that monkey off your shoulders pronto 👍
Citi’s default policy on GC is to begin process 2 years before you max out 6 years or if you have a priority date from previous employer then unless it becomes current citi won’t start the process
And you need to beg alot . Work culture is very bad
1. Is Citi offering a relocation since it’s NYC? 2. Since Barclays is offering AVP you could get a title promotion to VP. Most title promotions come with a “decent” base increase. With Citi they are offering VP so raises might be smaller.
Citi is also not offering any relocation, I am thinking about Barclays being a safe bet in this markets?
I don’t know if the market will make a difference since they are both banks. JPM just laid off a portion of their mortgage department.
