Currently a Sr Associate at JPM. Performing at a VP level for about a year. Have a first round phone interview later this week with Citi for a SVP role. Trying to determine a realistic salary expectation. 3 years in current role.#interview #career #finance UPDATE: I had my inital inteview with the recruiter today. It went well. Was told the hiring manager has already seen my resume. Base salary is in the 160k range plus bonus. They already sent a follow up e-mail asking for my availablity next week to interview with the hiring manager.
Depends on team , location and ORG ?
Risk Management / Model Risk Governance / NYC
Citi SVP is $300K+ in model risk, I highly doubt you can get the offer as a sr associate from JPM
According to LinkedIn, SVP at Citi is 145-200. Glassdoor says 163-175. Not specific to model risk though.
Also, the salaries and titles between JPM and Citi are not aligned. SVP title is equal to ED at JPM. Both one level above VP, however, it seems SVP salary is comp to VP salary at JPM. ED’s at JPM make well over 200.
How much total yoe you have?
Almost 3 in my current role, which would be most relevant to the role at Citi, as opposed to my prior roles.
You mean 3 years as VP or Sr Associate. Asking because BofA doesnt give out SVP roles unless you are 8+ years experienced
SVP zone 1 (nyc and sf) max 200k Bonus max 20% No way 300k Next level is director or c15
C15 is SVP, C16 is director
No. Svp. is c14 .. C15 is director. Some long term svps could be sitting on a c15 rank but still titled at svp. But it's not common.
Didn’t know we had Sr. Associates at JPMC.
HR codes are 601 and 602 for associate. I’m 602. My profile in the corporate directory says associate, but I’ve been told 602 is really a senior associate.
It's 602, but there is no meaningful different to 601. Salary band is like 5k-10k different as far as I know.
602 are senior associates.
Don’t want to discourage, I have been with both banks. Sr Associate which is AVP at Citi to SVP at Citi, no formal VP at any bank. It will be difficult for HR to justify. There are so many VPs working at SVP capacity at Citi who might be waiting to be SVP.
Ya and internal managers don’t give a shit. They rather get a bozo out of a big brand than give internal VPs the promotions they deserve
How are you jumping from associate to svp? SvP in most places is ED at JPM
Ed at jpm is a director at citi. Svp is only sr. Vp. It is tough to get people to work in model risk, so it might be possible for hr to make that case.
And this is why I hate finance lol I interviewed I think it was at Goldman, or one of them like a year ago, and for them sr vp was an ed level
I applied and they reached out for a first round interview. Let’s see what happens.
