Just to be clear how much did you pay for service like H&R block, TurboTax etc… for filing 2021 taxes? #tax #irs
I paid like $190 for turbotax
Everyone. You put the USD dollar sign in front of the number. Not after. $100 = ✅ 100$ = ❌
FreeTaxUSA = $0

How did you file your state tax for free?
$500
$800 H&R block master filer… paid $20k taxes as well. Still hurting !!
Why didn't you file taxes on your own using TurboTax?
I was really annoyed with TurboTax who seemed to trap me into a pay wall because I contributed to a 401k and it kept telling me I had to pay for deluxe/premium. I had to search and found that if you put you are a full time college student it will disqualify you for the tax credit and you can pass it.
Cash app taxes $0 😉
Yep! My taxes are simple (w2 interests and stocks) so no need for turbotax premier bs
FWIW you can do complicated things with cash app taxes and it’s still free!
Worth every penny to pay a CPA.
I used a CPA too but didn't find them any different than TT. Now I'm down $800. How was your experience?
FWIW, did my dad's taxes with TT because he's retired veteran and it's super straightforward. However, I find that TT intentionally complicates their explanations to upcharge you in getting advice. Prefer the personal connection with a local CPA that I can have conversations with on yearv round basis. 3/4 times I've asked TT or H&R block, their "experts" couldn't help without running it through 6 people.
TurboTax premiere, 79$
