What exactly does a merit budget mean that Satya was talking about ? Tc 23 YOE 1
There is country specific budgets for merit increase every year. Let's say In India this budget is 10%. Let's say Microsoft India spends 1000 cr in base salary of all employees anually. So 100 cr would be merit increase budget. Sum of all merit increase in India could be 100 cr. It doesn't mean that every employee would get 10% hike. Some might get 15% , some one else might get 8 or 5.
So in average one can assume double the hike ? What is the typical hike at Microsoft . Asking because I have an offer and wondering if it will beat it or not

Ok so how much percentage increase is usually given ? And what will be the new hole on base
Also what is the typical Merit at L59? Some say 10% some say max 5% ?
