Hi Blind fam, I recently gave an interview at AWS for System Development Engineer (L5). I got a call from the recruiter saying that I passed the interview and will be getting an offer post team match. I am currently waiting for the team match. I am not particular about any specific team and ready to work with any team (unless the HM is a D*ck). What should be my expectations regarding the total compensation. Is it based on the team I will be joining, location, etc? All help is appreciated. Current TC: 175K YOE: 8years #aws #amazon #L5 #swe #engineering #software
What’s the new TC?
It will be revealed post team match. I want to be prepared for negotiations. Checked comp at levels.fyi but data is all about Software Development Engineers. Not sure if both System Development and Software Development are considered same.
Congrats! Welcome!
Thanks!
250k+. Can try for 300 but you'll need a competing offer. Clearance bonus is an additional 5-45k depending on level and if you're on call
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately no competing offers.
Hey I also gave my on-site last week for SysDev L5. Linux went pretty average though, waiting for results. How long did you wait for results after on-site ? And which location? Congratulations again
Thanks! I heard after 4 business days. Location east coast/Seattle (not fixed).
What were the Linux questions like?
Your current location?
east coast
My original interview was L5. You’re looking at 200-250 range. Really hard to go above that from what was told. My L4 offer capped at 190 TC for remote in Atlanta.
Did the recruiter say you got through (via email) before he called you or did he simply schedule a call without telling you the outcome?
Recruiter called me via phone. Later I got an email as well.
Congrats! So he just called you out of the blue without an email?
Any updates on what offer did you get? I am nearly in the same boat
Any luck OP? Currently in same boat in Canada.
Tell us about the interview
4 interviews back to back. Coding completed for 2 of them. System Design and Problem solving interviews were average.
What concepts were covered on the coding rounds
