Remember Clippy and the racist Tay? That's all MSFT could do as a company. Open AI was bootstrapped and came up with a great technology. Mergers and acquisitions are MSFT winning strategy. No homegrown cutting-edge technology.

Don't talk shit about Clippy 😠
True though Google kinda did the same. Deepmind was already making huge strides before they were bought. Google brain actually came from Google X, which is still more impressive than outright buying another company. Large companies buy out competition which sucks, but it’s being done everywhere.
Clippy was 30 years behind AI. I’m pretty sure it was powered by around ten thousand “if” statements
🤣🤣🤣 this was a parent and ancestor to today's chatbot. It is dead and forgotten like many MSFT products; doesn't stand the test of time.
