Hi Cloud security or cybersecurity is a hot buzz word out there. Its a crowded space with more than 25 unicorns. Companies like Wiz, Orca Security, Lacework, Snyk etc raised $500M - $1B funding in 2021. Their valuation is above $2B. Lacework boasts of $8.3 valuation based on last funding round. Do you think all these 25+ unicorns would go IPO or get acquired? Who is likely to acquire these unicorns and spend about 2-8B? #venturetech #startup #lacework #meta #aws #gcp #paloaltonetworks #chime #stripe #databricks #rippling #braze #cybereason #crowdstrike #snyk #cybersecurity #cloud #amazon #microsoft #h1b #apple #bolt #flexe #instacart #cruise #airtable #plaid #ripple #figma #gusto #rubrik #swe #google #vmware #cisco
None are going to be acquired. They are primarily solutions engineering companies that have some helpful tools built on top. There is a reason Chronicle got folded back into Google. The only companies that care enough about then for an acquisition (Google, Microsoft, Amazon) already have better systems.
Lol. No.
So does everyone else
Zscaler is no longer unicorn. Its a public company now.
