- Clubhouse announces layoffs - Facebook shuts down podcasts - Twitters pulls employees off of Spaces
Clubhouse sucks. Internet radio was created in the 90s, little late to the game
😂 I love this scene
Didn't Amazon launch some equivalent of that pretty recently? Wonder how that's doing.
Sounds more like a promo project
Not well, problem is as people start going back to work or doing outdoor activities the demand for this only shrinks further and monetization option are limited as well
Clubhouse? LOL. Absolutely dead idea. Which creator would ever want to have broadcasts where the reach is limited to only the hundred or so of people who could join in time?
Meh. It was a fad. Just like crypto.
As soon as they eliminated exclusivity the end was near unfortunately
Y’all saying that now but if I look at your comment history you were probably begging for an invite back in 2021 lol.
LOL, nope! It was just as useless in 2021! There's no real networking effect there. No replay. They probably got higher audience with replays on YouTube. That's NOT how you capture the eyeballs!
Twitter spaces I found some stuff I liked. Relatively unknown academics who happened to be experts on Ukraine got some good audiences. Most of it is just ego fluffing and circle jerking from "founders" and "web3 entrepreneurs" and other morons. Clubhouse especially appealed to these types.
I mostly saw celebrity fandoms using it to fight each other
Twitter Spaces stole their thunder.
This company still alive?
Raised series C funding at 4b valuation in Apr 2021 after raising 100m series B from a16z in Jan 2021.
You do realize we are in 2022 now right?
