Had a friend that went through it. Was a art history major or something in college and managed to land a job at IBM after boot camp. Anecdotal but your prospects are probably pretty good if you sign up for a decent one.
I used to work at a 7-month program. It was a non-profit. We had hundreds of students come through and almost all of them were employed shortly after. Very few landed a first job at like Google. Now that some are on their second jobs, there are grads at like Pinterest and Github, etc.

you won't land a job at Google or Microsoft after learning how to make a simple web app. however you can get a job doing that at a smaller company. after that it is all on how hard you work. this field requires a shit load of work and all the big companies make you work like a 🐕
The reason bootcamps work is because of the collaborative environment. Find a group of people willing to dedicate their time (rare) or try programs like Learner's Guild (I believe they pay you and it's an income based repayment after) or the Recurse Center (may be only for previous devs).
Read up the article by jeff weiner founder of LinkedIn. He seems to like them.
Not happening. Ever. What can one expect from 3 months and losing 10 grand? 10 grand less in the bank account. Pick up a book, convince someone to hire you, work your way up.
