Does anyone else constantly get questionable promo emails from these about why cryptocurrency is a good investment? Most recent example from coinsquare: “Bitcoin started 2020 at just under $10,000 CAD and finished it off with an all time high of $37,000 CAD. That's a 310% YTD return*** which means that Bitcoin performed better than the Nasdaq, Gold, S&P 500, Dow Jones and the S&P/TSX Composite!” A similar email from coinbase analyzed why Bitcoin was doing so well, w/o mentioning the risks Promoting an unstable “investment” (or any investment) with this kind of overly salesy language seems pretty darn irresponsible. It honestly made me question the credibility/integrity of these companies.
Everyone and their granma are talking about crypto and bitcoin. Wonder how long will this bull run last?
Look at 2017-2018. It’ll come crashing down Again soon. May buy some after the next big crash but it’s way hyper extended again.
I expect a pull back soon but we are not sure if the run is still in it's infancy or it's about to end. Nonetheless, I would not get in now unless I am ready to lose it all.
They need to make money, and they aren’t fiduciaries to your investments. If you buy/sell, they make $. If you hold or never enter, they can’t make $.
They learned from robinhood it's ok. You deceive investors and push high risk buys, make a ton of money, and then pay the little 65m sec fine and repeat.
SEC is a joke with fines. Companies will gladly make 1b to pay a couple million dollar fine.

Just looked at the sender. My bad. the quote above was from coinsquare. But I received a similar email from coinbase about “why crypto is making headlines” that basically just had positive quotes about its growth (without counterbalancing it well with information about the risks). Updated the post with these corrections.
