Coinbase vs Cisco internship, help choose!
Hi, I just finished a Cisco internship and got a return offer, I also just got another offer from Coinbase, here's how they compare: Cisco: - 36.11$USD/hr + 6000$USD sign on bonus - go to Austin Texas (pretty cool, never went) - back-end Java - good wlb Coinbase: - 40$USD/hr (converted from 50 CAD) - remote internship from Canada (where I live, cheaper expenses) - front-end React most likely - from what i read on blind, sht wlb I'm tempted to go Coinbase since it's cooler. Even though internship TC is less, I think full time Coinbase TC is more, which is ultimately what I'm aiming for after the internship. Caveat: The Coinbase internship is in winter semester and Cisco is in summer, so technically I could actually do both. However, my expected graduation will be delayed by a semester and I don't know if Coinbase will be able to give me FT return offer if I finish school later. It is also frontend team frontend generally has better wlb in all org (As well as less chance of more than L6)
@Goldman I did not know that front end generally has better wlb, is this true on average for all companies?

coinbase will give return offers for whenever you graduate so dont worry about pushing back graduation by a semester or w.e. Most people work 45 hours a week - occasionally more. During crypto winter though wlb is much better. feel free to lmk if you have any questions.
so my coinbase internship would finish in may and I would graduate around the following year august. I'll ask my recruiter next week to be sure but thanks that sounds good. 45 hours a week sounds OK, do you know if front-end teams usually have it more chill than back-end teams? (someone mentioned this above) also, what do you mean by crypto winter?
I would say generally it does have better wlb. The designers at CB are good and create easy to translate figma files. Crypto goes through cycles. We are currently in a bull market but will see a bare one at some point. I.e crypto in 2017 went off and then 2018-2020 was winter. During winter WLB is much much better
