Coinbase - 240K / 1m / 45K sign on FANG - 220K / 550K / 25K sign on / 20% target bonus For non-eng role after negotiation. im still deciding whether to leave Airbnb but... How is coinbase doing from a business and culture standpoint? do you think the stock will be worth something? i don’t know anyone who works there. thanks #coinbase #fang
Noob here. If after 4 years coinbase doesn't ipo, can you simply sell those rsu back to coinbase?
Some companies do private buybacks to give employees liquidity, but it's not guaranteed.
FANG. Coinbase stock is worthless in my (uninformed) opinion, since the government hasn’t really gotten behind crypto so far. It’s more gambling house than currency broker
Are you an L5 or L6 at Airbnb? As others have pointed, coin base stocks are risky because of government not backing it yet but it could be very well rewarded if and when they do
Coinbase.
I worked with Coinbase when I worked in crypto. They may have changed since 2018 when I last worked in crypto, but the company looks good only because they’re compared to Ponzi schemes. Their understanding of margin and leverage is at best woefully ignorant. You take on massive regulatory risk by joining Coinbase.
Coinbase is very aware of the importance of regulation and is tackling it head-on.
I suggest checking secondary markets to see what’s Coinbase valued at. It will give you better data points to make your decision.
Curious - ang recommendations on which secondary markets to search on?
Think of joining coinbase as using 50% of your total comp to buy call options. Are you that bullish on Crypto?
Options where you pay no time premium.
The time premium is the opportunity cost. No free lunch
That’s pretty good offer for non-eng, what’s your years of experience? Function?
Plus one, very interested
Plus two
Based on offer FANG is Facebook.
Coinbase is all paper money - How likely do you think they’ll IPO? A publicly exchanged crypto company doesn’t seem likely to me, personally.
Why not? Riot blockchain is publicly traded although it’s tiny
And they filed for ipo
