Buckle up, this is a long one but it’s a much needed name and shame. I went through multiple rounds of interviews for one team in TPX. The recruiter reached out to me twice, for two different positions after I had cleared all the interviews, stating that I would be given an offer all that needed to be done was the final portion by HR; I have this in a voicemail that was left on my personal cell phone. I spoke with the hiring manager because it had been a while (roughly 2 months because the recruiter took so long to get back to me) and wanted to get another overview of the team and type of work. After meeting with the hiring manager for the second time post interviews, my recruiter ghosted me. He would not answer my calls, emails, text messages, or messages on Linkedin about when the offer was supposed to get emailed to me. I reached out to the hiring manager and asked when the offer would be ready and he said that HR was still working on it and didn't provide me with a timeline but said the recruiter would be in touch within a few days. 4 weeks passed from that point, remember I was told a few days, and I still had not heard anything about the final offer(s) I was told I would recieve over voicemail, which was then later confirmed in a call shortly after the recruiter left a voicemail. Just a few days ago I received an email in my inbox stating that I had be rejected from the latest position in which I was previously told that I would receive an offer for. This is the second time this has happened. To make the situation even better (worse), the same recruiter that had initially told me I would receive an offer had the audacity to call me back and say he had another position available and could get me another interview. I want to know where my offers were that I was told I would receive from both the recruiter and hiring manager and why I was rejected after 8+ months of interviews and 2 positions that should have resulted in offers. This is completely unprofessional and irresponsible of Comcast. I don't know whether recruiting is this unorganized or if I happened to get the short end of the deal twice in a row by being told I would receive an offer only to be ghosted and told there was another position available I could interview for. The entire interview processes has been around 9 months of interviews and being strung along to different "positions" that were supposedly there yet HR had no clue that they existed. Nonetheless, I had still passed the interviews for them. Yet after this much time, absolutely nothing resulted from this experience despite the fact that I was told otherwise. I am absolutely irate at Comcast recruiting and how this entire experience has been handled from my initial application, to the supposed offers, followed by ghosting, and ultimately rejection from not one but 2 positions that again, I was told I would receive offers for. I have never experienced such a horrible recruiting process in the hundreds of companies and positions I have applied for. If this is how horribly Comcast treats their interviewees then I cannot imagine how they treat their actual employees and engineers. This process has been absolutely disgraceful and a complete waste of time. I no longer wish to work for this company. I’ll also throw this in at the end but I actually had an offer that I negotiated and signed before covid. Then, and I’m not even exaggerating when I say this, 16 hours before my start time, they rescinded my offer due to covid and gave me a $1,000 “good faith” check that they took taxes out of. How nice of them. TL:DR: FUCK Comcast, their HR team, their recruiting process, and their products. Do not work for them or even bother interviewing with them. Sounds like a bunch of bad luck. Something will work out in the end for you.
TLDR
There’s literally a TLDR
Where is the TLDR for it?
There are a ton of companies like that. Call them out. Thanks for this
Think of it this way — next time you won’t let a company do that to you over and over again. You should have cut them loose months ago.
I’m well aware of that but I figured that after their Covid shenanigans I would give them a second chance. Turns out they just took advantage of the me and the fact that I gave them another chance.
Giving *Comcast* a second chance was your first mistake. ^_^
I applied at a medical device startup, never heard back, and forgot about it (went to PayPal in the interim). 6+ months later I get an email saying that they were impressed with my resume, and wanted to interview me. Do these companies not understand how horrifically incompetent they’re making themselves out to be?!
Comcast pays peanuts 🥜 and without the faang brand name. Their pay is terrible. Marginally better than public sector.
Can you DM me more details? This is terrible. I might be able to do something about it.
Yeah fuck Comcast. Hate being a customer and would never work there
