Commuting from SF to Apple Park
I'm a 22 y/o new grad taking a position at Apple Park. I'm worried about there being nothing to do in the south bay so I'm thinking of living in SF and using the Apple shuttle to commute 1.5+ hrs every day. If anyone here has done this and loved or regretted it I'd love to hear why. TC 230k

You will regret living in the south bay being a 22 year old.
I did the daily shuttle commute from SF to MPK for about 3 months and it was truly terrible. Iām from LA so Iām used to bad traffic but it was worse than I could have imagined. If you can work on the shuttle (I couldnāt really focus), then it may be okay. I chose SF over South Bay because I also was worried about nothing to do in South Bay, but I was always so tired and irritated after getting home that I didnāt do much. I would think hard on whether itās worth 3+ hrs of commute time to live in SF vs to visit on occasion or on weekends. If you have a car and can easily get to the city and/or to the Bart to get to SF, I donāt think itās worth living there and losing 3 hrs a day.
Second this OP. Get a car and if you have friends in SF just crash on their couches
@google This would make it easier, but one of the reasons I want to live in SF is to make friends. I'm moving from the east coast and would be starting a new life in California.
Downtown San Jose isn't San Francisco, but it's something, walkable, and a much saner commute. Frankly, SF was cool 20 years ago, but that's all been priced out.
I do it now and it is worth it. About an hour each way. The shuttle I take goes down 280 which has less traffic than the 101 (meta, google, etc).
I do it. With 2/week in office, itās more than worth it.
Live in Mission District, then commute is faster

How many days a week do you need to go in? If itās only 2 or so, itās much more doable.
Yes, only 2 for now but I assume that could change within the next year
I would reassess if it does change. Jobs arenāt forever. For now, it seems fine.
