They seem to have consistently low comp compared to FAANG. Is that right? How do they compete for talent?
By having a tower!
SF is a channel to FAANG or a retirement home for engineers that need a break
They’re not FAANG, and that’s ok.
Because the comp is still above average, and you get excellent WLB working for a company doing great things. It is what you make of it
Great things such as wait for 10 mins for the app to start after 30 min build
Haha heard much worse at my previous employer, used to take an hour sometimes there
They still have relatively high comp with better WLB, and thus pay a higher effective hourly rate to full time employees than Amazon or FB.
Remote work.
New grad here. TC ~190k. Comp is comparable with FAANG, atleast at my level.
And that's why staying here a couple years sucks. HQ SMTS with lower pay here.
Yes be happy then. Always focus on work money will follow new grad.
If you work on the technical engineering side of sales, Comp is as good or better than most companies, including Google, Msft, and Amazon.
No one comes to Salesforce, Salesforce comes to you (via acquisition). And things are still like your old job for a while before The Force creeps in and then you start reevaluating the compensation but remind yourself how much you love the WLB and being able to work remotely
Yes. Every SF employee came in through an acquisition.
Oh dang, I was just joking that absolutely no one actually joins through normal hiring process. That's so crazy that everyone comes in through M&A!
The answer is they don't
