What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
Hello guys, not too long ago I received an offer at a Berlin, Germany Fintech company for €60k (German salaries are lower, but Berlin is also cheap) and I was really excited to get my foot through the door in Fintech. The company never came at me with LC problems and I had not grinded LC before. However, this was before I found Blind and realized how much SEs in Seattle make. I asked the German company to extend the offer deadline and they did. In the meantime I've been interviewing with a few companies in Seattle and remote. I made it to the last round at Amazon but didn't perform well at coding problems. Currently interviewing with Expedia, Uber and Qualtrics. I don't think I have the time to grind LC before my deadline for the German company and I feel that I will underperform in the technical interviews. It also doesn't help that I met this amazing woman right before she moved to Seattle for a job offer. We've currently agreed to distance relationship for a short time while I look for opportunities in Seattle. Are there any companies actively hiring junior engineers and that don't go through the LC nightmare? IMPORTANT INFO: I already turned in my notice at my company. TC: peanuts, 76k YOE: 1.5 #software #software #software #engineering #software #Seattle #career
@OP By how many days were you able to extend the offer deadline?
by a little over a month.
Start leet coding dude. You don’t have enough experience. At this level, any decent company will make you go through coding rounds.
Not enough time before I have to take the offer in Germany. Also, the German company did not LC me. They showed me code and asked me for my input and my style of writing code.
A lot of companies don’t ask leetcode questions. The problem is usually they are probably not the companies that would pay well as well.
