I am just starting my job search outside Intel. I am hesitant (may eventually change my mind) of moving out of Portland, OR. Looking for good companies for Software Engineers/Senior Software Engineers in Portland. Anything besides regulars like Amazon, Apple, Nike, Salesforce which I already know of. I am open to work for smaller, mid size companies but need visa sponsorship. What TC am I looking at for SWE positions for about 7 years experience in Portland? Stripe is remote friendly
How’s the pay range for someone with ~ 7-8 YOE in Stripe for remote location like PDX?
Broadly speaking around 20% less than SF/NYC
Nvidia is in PDX, Google has an office with a few engineering teams, Galois afaik does visa sponsorship, Mentor Graphics is there, Airbnb, Ampere Computing (tons of intel engineers moved there), I have heard Microsoft has a small engineering office here now. Edit (10/09/2020) Microsoft is expanding here plus with them moving to wfh now more options to work for in the PDX office, Apple is here and expanding, VMware, GitHub as well. Coinbase has an office here and is remote friendly. Salesforce is here too. Except for FB and the unicorns, PDX now has a pretty strong tech footprint. Plus if one has 5YOE, FB will offer remote work too.
How’s the pay at Nvidia, Mentor Graphics, Airbnb etc as compared to Intel in PDX? Portland being a LCOL place compared to Bay Area.

Can't speak for culture but Intel TC is worst in industry, anywhere else is better.
