Following. I’m in SD as well and feel there isn’t much of a tech scene here aside from Qualcomm and Teradata
Amazon has a small office there. Transaction Risk Management Systems teams I believe.
Intuit, Sony
Google has an office there. I think they have projects involving low-level mobile software and media processing

There is Apple Wireless Team Bldg (after they acquired, Intel Modem Team). Their compensation is way more than what Qualcomm pays.
200k TC as a solution engineer at Teradata. Extra bonuses this year bumped me up to about 225 TC. 5 YOE.

Amazon is one certainly one of the highest payers in SD. Same salaries as Seattle, so look it up.
I agree, levels.fyi has Amazon sde1 tc as 160-165k in San Diego. Don't think service now can compete, although Qualcomm on levels.fyi had reports on 110-180k, so who knows
Yeah, SDE 1 industry hire should be ~165k.
