I’m looking to get out of big tech. Ideally looking for an organization that has interesting work, great benefits and WLB (and ideally part time options). I’ve reached FI so I’m fine if the pay isn’t competitive. I’m looking for interesting problems to solve or something with a mission. I need a decent employer-sponsored health plan and generous time off policy. Any suggestions? I’d love to be able to apply my tech industry skills rather than being a barista at Starbucks.
Could you provide more details ? What’s your net worth, age and TC?
Indeed is great. Unlimited PTO (in practice you can easily do 8 weeks per year, I never tried more). Very good work life balance. Full remote is an option for anyone. Tech and problems is decent - it will mostly depend on your interests and what team you join. I worked there for 5 years and enjoyed it.
Wow you really took eight weeks off in one year???
Love that, took four months off myself last year. Would rather make less money than be paid more but be overworked. Can always make more money, cannot make more time.
Why not start your own business if you have reached FI?
Because not everyone wants to start their own business?
Amgen (if in the right team/department). Biotech company focused on serious disease, attempting to still use cutting edge tech, great health care, and 2 shutdowns/year + 15 days off year 1. Many engineering jobs are full time remote now. I know several people working part time (although they had been at the company awhile first) Dm if you’d like to chat about it
Thank you!
Momentive formerly surveymonkey Unlimited pto Great health benefits Great wfh benefits (1200/year) Free food in office Great wlb Very nice people

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
What’s your NW to declare FI? Also where are you based?
Also, did you declare it loud enough? Else it doesn’t count.
I DECLARE FIIIII....
