Company Relocation

As an existing employee, my company is planning to relocate me and pay for relocation expenses. I plan to quit 2 to 3 weeks after the relocation. Since this is a forced relocation by the company, will I be obligated to pay them back if I leave within a month?

I’m pretty sure relocation comes with 1 year continued employment etc. every place I have worked with has had this clause.

Probably but check with your HR. They'll be able to tell you

Look at your documents, but likely yes.

Most likely, yes. Especially if not company facilitated

The company initiated the relocation

You said it’s not forced by the company…so was this move an ask from the company? They wanted you in a different location? Or did you want to move and ask your company to cover it and they obliged?

I've had companies say 1 year and some have said 2 or even 3 years.

You’ll be required to pay back if you leave within 1-2 years from the move(depending on the company), regardless of whether it was you or the company that initiated the move.
