Between visa inc and fidelity which is better fit for average developers? Low chance of pip firing? I am trying to figure out where to go next. Don't care about brand/reputation, tc, career growth, just need a normal job. I want to say fidelity since they are private and no shareholder pressure. How is the hq centrism in the companies? I found working at msft outside Redmond pretty difficult. Tc 160K
There’s no average engineer lol, just try harder
Fidelity shit pay
Amen
Just to answer your question on HQ centrism. Fidelity has very few people in Boston and mostly execs. So that's not an issue at all. Job security and WLB are amazing. And being private, your TC won't be impacted much during recession, meaning no extreme boost during bull market either. Make sure you interview for at least senior positions, and really need to stay 4-5 years+ to max all the benefits. So, join Fidelity and uninstall Blind would be your path to happiness
I already interviewed and recruiter said all good. It is senior position
Aim for level higher than other companies fidelity tends to inflate titles so senior else where is likely principal at fidelity
Both are super safe. Visa may hold better name in tech ranking probably but not much difference. But yeah fidelity is private and does not care what wall street says.

How much should your net worth be by age 30?
Pharma companies. Try pfizer, gsk etc
Yeah I would agree. Those companies are great for average engineers not looking grind for TC
