There are quite a few companies out there with good Sales Academy programs for beginning SDRs/BDRs such as Salesforce and Adobe - was wondering what people's personal experiences were with previous companies training programs. I was also curious about which SaaS company has the best exit opps in terms of a SaaS sales career, whether that be through training, prestige, or other factors. YOE: <1 year OTE: 80k
Good place to start, Okta's numbers are a little off but close. It's a bit lower now!
What are they now
NetSuite (Oracle) has a sales academy. Microsoft recently started an academy with most hires starting in Las Colinas (Dallas).
I started my career at Oracle in the Class Of Program. TC was 75k which most people hit within +/- 10%. They teach you the fundamentals and you learn a lot on the job through cold calling. I'd also recommend Salesforce as well. Message me if you have questions
How long does it take for salesforce SDRs to move up to AE?
Can't speak too much to Salesforce as I didn't start there but a few buddies did. Typically it's 12 months SDR (inbound) 12 months BDR (outbound) Then SMB AE I know a few Oracle BDCs have gone to Salesforce to be either an SDR or BDR. Also a Greenfield AE in apps went to SMB AE so if you're in OD you might be able to swing a Salesforce AE role
Y’all should come to Zoominfo ;) first year OTE is $65K but almost no good inbound rep stays in the inbound team for more than 5 months (I moved to Outbound after 3 months) and good outbound reps move on to SMB AE or AM or team lead within 6-12 months (I’m on track to be promoted to AE on my 6th month on OB). Getting to AE in under 10 months total since the job started. Once you move from inbound to outbound the top SDRs (like 30% of us? Rest all make pretty decent living too) all make over $10K/month in cash with few individuals collecting way over that. Lmk if anyone wants a referral happy to help out here. I think Zoominfo has one of most underrated sales comp out there (at least at entry and early AE level)
Great product but terrible work culture/sweatshop from my buddy's experience. Joined as an inbound and quickly made it to AE. Apparently his manager made his team work 7am to 7pm and would ping him during lunch when he wasn't doing interactions. Apparently my buddy's team confronted the manager and a few quit. The manager is now back as a rep lol
Yikes I would quit that too lol I do hear stories about 7-7 in the past but I don’t think that happens anymore. That managers deserves it. He sucks for doing it to his team man
