Company won’t pay commission?

I left recently and they won’t pay commissions due for several months. They are stating the customer is not paying them and threatened to return equipment. The customer called me and says his account is not past due and only threatened a return becasue of a product issue that was resolved. When do I go to the CEO or hire an attorney? We parted ways on good terms and don’t want to rock the boat for others.

Yeaaaaah...20k I would have to go get that. The juice is worth the squeeze. I’d try the CEO, but you may as well prepare to lawyer up. Try the CEO first though. At least give him/her the opportunity to right the wrong. Lawyering up immediately would be unbecoming.

Can you report them? Also if you signed a contract that says commissions are not paid until the customer pays, and you left before that happened, they might say they are not obligated to pay you. Maybe??If they are A-holes. If you know anyone in HR or a labor attorney they can help.
