I’m considering an offer from Northrop Grumman for PC Network Tech 2. I’m currently a fed employee in a helpdesk role. I had originally interviewed for a cyber position but wasn’t selected. I’ve been stuck in helpdesk roles for 4 yrs and based on my conversations with managers at Northrop I should be able to transition to an associate cyber role within the year. Im taking a small pay cut to get my foot in the door essentially. Just wanted to come in here in see if anybody who’s been both a fed and at Northrop can give me an honest benefit comparison. Healthcare, PTO, WLB Current TC: 81k Offered TC: 78k
PTO, holidays, WLB, 401k match all good. Health insurance is garbage
Overall the benefits are pretty average. WLB is amazing. Good PTO. But yes pretty tight on the numbers they offer . Very hard to negotiate

Have you tried negotiating the NG offer to at least match your current TC?
I did, they couldn’t make the position a level 3 so 78 was the best they could do. I don’t mind that tbh I care more about the benefits
Benefits are good imo. 3 weeks PTO plus 5 regular off days and a company wide shutdown during Christmas-new year. They match 6% of my 401k when I put in 8%.
