Compensation at Saleforce
Salesforce doesnt offer stock refresher in annual review and thier bonus are not more than 15% to 20%. Wondering whats attractive about salesforce. Tableau got acquired so i had little choice on joining Salesforce. The more time i spend in salesforce it isa clear i got to go find another job if i want to make more money. Just curious to hear from long time employee what has kept them at salesforce.
Only reason to stay is if you don't want to or can't find another role outside of Salesforce. Its pay is mid tier.
Salesforce is acquiring Dropbox.
That's fine for me in the short term. I'd leave once my comp stays stagnant.
Salesforce is a decent company with some really good benefits. If you're a go-getter, you can find opportunities to grow there, otherwise you can also take it easy and enjoy WLB. Pay isn't FAANG level, but can get pretty good once you get to L9+.

L9 would be Principal Member of Technical Staff / Director.
I went from Apple (there for 6 years) to Salesforce and initially asked the exact same question. The TC is comparable for the first 4 years if you initially negotiate a good RSU package, so my plan is to stick around for 4 years, then go somewhere else. In the meantime while I’m here, I’m finding the culture to be SO fantastic. The people I work with are nice, wanting to help and collaborate, and overall are a positive bunch. Huge difference from the Apple culture which I generally found to be cutthroat/every person for themselves.
I wish I had the same feeling that you do. Work environment has gotten worse after acquisition, workload has increased dramatically with no additional HC. Trying to understand why people like this company. Based on this experience I would never work for them again.
I’ve heard that about Tableau. Sounds like time to jump ship to another SF team or externally
Well Tableau guys shouldnt complain cos you lot got crazy stock conversion during the acquisition .. while we are still stuck with the measly initial grants..
Tableau offered refreshers? Substantial?
Yes. Around 30k to 40k a year.
