Compensation for Client Portfolio Manager

I currently work at a large alternative credit / private credit manager. my role has a myriad of responsibilities including product development, product specialist/ market specialist (i.e. helping inst’l sales land large tickets when they’re beyond their depth), creating marketing materials and working with sales mgmt in terms of product postioning. I am not making investment decisions but more or less anything on the “business side” of investing falls under my purview. From a product standpoint i cover: CLOs, distressed debt funds, direct lending funds, and long only leveraged loan funds. I have 6 years of experience and have grown organically into this role over the years which has been great, except I feel like I do not have a great feel on what my total comp figure should be since I havent “priced” myself in a while. I am in the process of touching base with recruiters but wanted to see if anyone else on this medium could provide input as well.

what’s your background before this role ?

Sales - was internal wholesaler for a couple yrs than jumped to hybrid. Was making more in that role. But while it’s lucrative I think the pay for that job isn’t sustainable given the industry trajectory. Been in CPM seat for 2.5 yrs now
