Hi Everyone, I just completed my Masters and i have 3.5 YOE as a Software Engineer. The HR told me during the screening call that they are paying 95k for the role. She didn’t mention about any benefits. I received a call last week saying that i got in and that she is waiting for some documentation to be done . I am expecting a call this week . I just wanted to know if I should negotiate and if I should is there any ball park . What would be the approximate joining bonus and other benefits?

95k is a low ball. Senior eng should get at least 250k+

Agreed! It is getting tougher to hear from companies because they is lot of competition with people being laid off , hiring freeze and so many graduates. Also i do have an offer from a start up . They have also offered in the similar range .
Ex-Fidelity here. Fido goes low on salary and big on benefits - specifically 401(k) match and annual retirement savings contribution. It's how they roll. And with thousands of unemployed SWEs they can afford to stick to their guns.
How was 401k match at fideity?
I'm going back awhile but it used to be 100% of the first 6-7%. That's in addition to the retirement savings contribution and your annual bonus. Biggest benefit though was insider info :-)

L4 15 percent bonus potential 7 percent 401k match 10 percent profit sharing are the big ones they should have discussed with you. Push for shares/equity as a sign on bonus.
401k match is only after a year of working though no?
Correct, you have to be employed with Fid on 31st Dec last year and worked 1000hrs this year in order to be eligible

Heard fidelity is paying very low. Yoe doesnt matter. What determines your tc is 1. Which role you are interviewing for 2. Your interview performance 3. Counter offers in hand Ypu cant negotiate without above 2,3(3 is mosy important factor)
2. It was a panel of 5 members. The interview went quite good . 3. I do have an other offer
then try it if you dont need to worry about offer rescind. Now is Employers market.
