The majority of posts I see on here are for software positions. Most users have ENG as their field too, but many of these degrees are different. I was curious what degree each person in a SW position has. Also, do others think having an option for this distinction would be a good feature? TC 135 2 YOE
Computer engineering at gatech was more c and embedded computing focused. I found it incredibly useful for understanding how all computing works. CompE also has more maths
How will C and embedded help you if you write Javascript ?
CE BS + CS MS I found engineering great for understanding memory and operating system concepts. CS solidified my knowledge of Algorithms and let me play with experimental equipment that I'd otherwise not have access to.
I'm in the same boat.
If I could do it again, I'd choose whichever course was the shortest or cheapest and just start earning sooner. You can learn on the job and almost nobody cares about the title of your degree.
