Confluent L4 - what’s it like
I’m in the process for a Confluent L4 role and I want to learn more about what it’s like working there. What’s the organization structure look like overall within the company? What’s the approximate ratio of levels there? I’ve seen some posts saying they’ve seen people getting L4 within a few years out of college, and some saying L4 has some strong engineers with 10+ YOE who are super good at what they do. What has been your experience with this? Is it friendly for new outside-joiners? Current TC: 🥜 #confluent
You will get to do a lot of migrations, bug fixes and operations, and no hope to do a single feature
The promotion process has not always been very transparent at engineering department. Personally as L4, I’m not very motivated to get promoted. I’m ok with the pay and I’m not looking for responsibilities of a higher level. We are already loaded with work.
