Confused with school ratings..
I am looking to buy a house and confused with school ratings. What is the minimum rating of the school that I should target for? Which website has reliable ratings? Should I check for all (Elementary, middle and high school)?
Enjoy the pressure and stress laid on your kid by sending them to a 9/10 school. Enjoy the premium house price, and enjoy helping your kid to compete against a larger pool of applicatents. School ratings are bullshit

Pick the highest rating that you can afford. Whether you believe the rating reflects the quality of education is always debatable, but the higher rating is what will attract higher buyers when you sell.
What I found was the School ratings and average test scores percentiles are not directly correlated. GreatSchools ratings takes a variety of factors into account (improvement in scores, diversity, etc etc). If you are interested only in your kid doing well in academics, then look at Schooldigger. They rank schools just by percentiles (test scores). Apart from academics, the most important education for any kid begins at home. It’s all about how we treat them, how we treat our family, how we treat other people in the world. That’s what shapes their character. So, if you got that covered, just pick a school with good test scores.
By Home in the projects and send kids to school in good neighborhood by getting a friends address and use Uber to shuttle them. I did it and saved a ton.
Buying a house in a good school rating zone means your house price is unlikely to fall during a recession, as there are always people interested in those houses for the school. Rating 8+ are good ratings on apps like Redfin or Zillow.
Well shit.. I just closed a house on a 6 rating school. I think I am fucked when the the downturn happens. I hate myself right now. Huge buyers remorse.
I am looking for a house with school rating 8 in MA for my requirements but don’t see any. I might aswell settle for rating 6.
