https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/16/airbnb-s-1-ipo-filing-drops.html Finally, it's about time!!
Is it really good timing?
Rip airbnb
Seems like a cash grab to weather the upcoming lockdowns
Are there upcoming lockdowns?
Yes. Our state is unofficially lockdown now. Restaurant closed and no gathering of > 5.
When is the ipo?
.
..
Wow Airbnb turned a profit? Headcount cutting must have been a major reason for that under these tumultuous times...
Is it a good move to go public during a global pandemic?
Cash grab while you can Their plan is probably to let the public worry about that
yes, stock market at all time highs again
Thanks y’all
Hopefully no layoffs again
They jacked up the fees on those listings by a large amount. That's how they turned a profit last quarter. Phukin Chesky is juicing the customer to line up his pockets
Yeah even I thought that they're jacking up cleaning/ service fees. To verify, i just logged into my account and tried to compare fees from one of my previous stays by selecting same number of days(weekends). But what i found is that fees are pretty much the same as last year. Cleaning goes to the host and service fee goes to Airbnb. From my receipts dated back in 2015 til now, most of the domestic and international trips were charged somewhere between 13.2% to 14.1% of service fee. I think one reason for increased totals we see now is cleaning fees which are pretty high compared to before maybe because of the pandemic.
have not used them for years after some unreliable hosts, the hotel 24 hr front desk and staff is how it's supposed to be
