Consistent leetcode problems solving

I start leetcode being very motivated which lasts for a month and then I just stop it somehow. Does anybody faced the same problem ? What you did to overcome it ?

Take a week off. Do other things. Then come back and review for a few days. And then start going again.

Are you clear on what you want to achieve with Leetcode? I visualized the end goal and that always kept me motivated. Besides, I liked solving problems more than my previous shitty job.

Yeah I badly want to switch jobs, and I also like to solve problems. But when I do hard problems which takes so much time and patience I mostly lose interest. Additionally there will be some work popping up in office continuously which just makes it so hard to keep up.

Have some structure to your practicing. Good thing is that you don't need to be able to solve all the hard problems tomorrow.

My suggestion is to treat hard problems as hard problems and set your expectation that you will struggle with them initially. Also solving medium problems gives momentum. So may be go through some medium level problems when you think you're not making progress.

Rename your Leetcode session name some like 400k😀

Or name it 401(K)😄

Try to solve more easy to medium problems. Leetcode hard problems are mostly anal nonsense that doesn’t come out in interviews.

sometimes they do

Agreed, that’s why I said “mostly”, not “all”.

Always do a couple of easy questions before the hard/medium questions, seeing the green check after only one pass definitely get me more motivated to dive in the harder ones. You can also make a plan to do x amount of questions per day. From psychology side, motivation either come from good satisfaction or bad punishment.

Just do something else. Work on a side project. I don’t do leetcode.

Just do the "hard" problems with high frequency with your respective company of interest
