I've had a few colleagues who left FAANG to start their own consulting firms (UX, front end dev, full stack, iOS dev, etc.). They seem to be making ends meet and enjoying themselves. Anyone know how much income you can generate going independent? I always thought it's difficult to match FAANG TC. 450k TC
depends . once you have a client you can earn a lot . My friend is clocking 10cr in tier 3 city in India
You have to market yourself really well. Make yourself stand out among overseas firms. Having connections with investor can also help as they have the most reach to well funded startups. Your TC can be close to big tech but it won’t be consistent.
I don’t recommend it as a primary source of income since work is not consistent and you are only paid for hours which you actually work which can be surprisingly hard to accrue. unless the hourly rate is absurdly high, easier to just coast at big company and do it on the side
If they pay you
