Do consulting firms and/or Big 4 fire employees easily? I’m quite nervous due to the current market situation... Any tips/insights?
Nervous or nervous you can’t change nothing prepare yourself just in case
Yeah I should
Yes they do. 2008 saw some serious layoffs in big 4. This year D let go about 2% as "low performing". If you are in the bench for a long time is be worried
Best to stay on a project and keep billing. Make sure to polish up the resume just in case
Understood...
I am switching from BAH to CACI. My last day at BAH was today and I start with CACI on Monday. Should I be worried?
Keep calm and focus on getting staffed.
This is not economical recession, so i don't think it will make immediate impact in couple of months for big 4 for sure. Its currently impacting to small business like resturant and other stores where they pay to workers on hrly basis.
Yeah that makes sense — hope this coronavirus ends very soon...
Firms are not even thinking about that right now. Have enough reserves to last for a while, depending if this gets any worse then the conversation begins to occur and it’ll start with certain employees. Know that Accenture is not looking at that at all, could change in a few months but they’ll stop hiring/cutting other costs before laying consultants off.
Lovely, that sounds right.
Similar situation at my firm. We are not considering layoffs
Lol that's not even a topic for Accenture since everyone can legit work from home and have virtual meetings.
I was more worried about workflow since companies will be less likely to pay for consultants
Hiring freezes confirmed at EY and PWC. Layoffs will happen at firms with huge benches. Good luck to all
If they start releasing subcontractors and ask people to pitch in more then I would worry.
