Hi I have 2 job offers one is contract and other fulltime. How do they stack against each other. I am fine with any just purely from compensation stand point. Offer 1 Contract : 80/hr Vacation: 2 weeks Holidays: Paid 8 days Offer 2 salary: 140k vacation: 3 weeks Holidays: probably same 8 days 401k: 3 percent match 100% Stock plan purchase since its public. Offer 1 nets me about 160k Thanks

Only do contract work if it’s a lot more money or if you want to have breaks between gigs . You should take the FTE offer IMO

Contract positions look shitty on resume. And we really don’t assign meaningful work to contractors. They do busy work FTE’s dont want to do.
One more reason people should not do contract at MSFT
Not necesserily I worked full time for 4 years then contract for 1 year. I was doing same work as FTE and if I worked over I was getting paid and did not had worry about anything else.
