I have an offer for a 6 month contract role with Apple in California and full time role with ICE ( intercontinental exchange) in Chicago. Compensation is more at ICE ( 20k more + benefits, bonuses etc). I am contemplating because of location (I won’t have to move) and big name FAANG. But given the market, I don’t want to be in a position to search for another job after 6 months. I wanted to find out if anyone has seen Apple converting contractors to FTEs or contracts getting extended easily Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks! #tech
When I see ICE, immigration & Custom Enforcement comes to my mind lol 😅😅 #lifeofinmmigrant
I am not really sure abt this…but just something you should explore…how much weight would a contract role at Apple have on your resume…also if contract role does not include insurance then it should be a no no…especially in bay area which is already very expensive.
Contract roles mean jack shit. Apple will 99% not hire you into a full time job as a contract worker. How do you think they avoid layoffs? By firing contract workers instead lol.
Great answer. The conversion rate is negligible.
As a contractor you cannot put the Apple name on LinkedIn on your CV (people do but it is against policy), you are suppose to put your vendor name with client confidential
Where is this policy written?
Let’s hear the offer numbers!
What's the position at ICE?

Cleared Amazon onsite, but lowballed.
Apple contract role will probably open kore doors but ICE role is probably better. Chicago is also way cheaper than California so might be better depending on your lifestyle. Apple is the better career move and ICE if you aren't as career minded.
