Good idea or no? I have to make a decision tomorrow lol. Blind Tax: $105k TC - Iโm in recruiting so I donโt make the big bucks like you guys ๐
If you are in a no name a company, yes. Otherwise, probably no.
I believe a lot of recruiters start out as contractors. If it helps you get your foot in the door it may be worth the gamble.
I started my recruiting career in tech as a Google contract recruiter. I was later converted to FTE, so in my case, it was totally worth it.
May I dm you?
Sure feel free to
I contracted at Google (in tech, not a SWE) for 2.5 years and it got me an FTE offer at LinkedIn. If itโs a step up in TC, do it
It definitely is lol. Thank you!
all in the TC. Itโs more unstable so only if TC is significantly higher. probability-wise, more contractors get let go than converted.
A lot of recruiters at Google started as contractors and then converted to Fulltime. Even you donโt get FTE in two years, the brand value will get you a manager role in a different tech company.
If your only goal is to work in a Google office, then sure. Otherwise life is much better as a FTE.
I enjoyed my experience contracting at Google but didnโt really get the same perks or level of respect as the other FTEs on my team. It can be good for career growth. Itโa not unheard of to get a full time offer after but the percentage who do is probably pretty low
Nah
