Contracting at Meta vs. FTE at TikTok
I’m a government contractor trying to transition into the tech sector. I have been offered a contractor role (non-tech)at Meta and an FTE position at TikTok. I’m just trying to get my foot-in-the-door. Which position would be more beneficial to go from consulting to the tech sector? TC 164k
FTE is > than contractor if it’s between those two options. Are you willing to accept the 996 work culture with low pay though? Contractor would be better in cases where you’re coming from a no-name company and you need to get your foot into the door.

TikTok. More popular social media app and lots to learn. Don't go the contractor route if you have an equally good FTE option

I would go FTE at TikTok. My suggestion would be to get involved in some projects quickly and network then leave as soon as possible. TikTok has awful culture internally.
