Just got offered a contract role at Meta. Anyone been a contractor there? If so, what were your thoughts? Would you recommend? Did you make it to full time?
Are contractor interviews easier or harder at FAANGs?
It's pretty chaotic internally right now. If you have other options I'd say stick with them. This isn't a good time to join Meta as a contract worker.
Contractors are first to go with a recession. I’d be weary unless that’s your only option.
I’d say it’s good experience and looks good on your resume, with the understanding you are first in line when a layoff happens. I guess it depends how much you can afford to lose your job.
How were the interviews? LC medium?
Tc or gtfo
Not recommend unless the pay is extremely good and just for the experience of working with meta. Otherwise forget about FTE, you have to go through the interview process from the start. It is also country dependant, anything other than Europe or US is not worth it since the pay will be miserable and country dependant.
Alternate opinion: - CWs in other years were NOT the first to go at Meta. Part of the high impact culture was depending heavily on CW labor - The current economic environment is different. I believe all depts are looking at their budgets - Conversions to FTE will be nearly impossible for the time being I would seek permanent employment at a stable company (not a startup) if possible.
Hey, I have my contractor interview for Meta next week? Could you please share some information that could help?
