Asking for my girlfriend. She is looking for a contractor job at facebook(QA position). How easy/difficult to get converted to full-time if she does well.
May I ask what is her contractor qa position? Do you have a JD?
Pretty hard, I think you have to go through interviews. Especially since I'm not sure if we even have full time QA.
Difficult, pretty much the only way is to be so good that they trust you to lead a team of contactors
Fb does not hire full time qa, first time i am hearing about it.
Sitting in Amazon how do you know that FB does not hire QA. We hire QA Faye’s and I am one of the managers . We have a 300+ QA org in FB mostly vendors but Dre’s manage them.
Fte’s I meant and not Dre’s.
Thanks everyone for useful comments
But they'll dangle the carrot out there to get you to join. It feels like incompetence or bait & switch. - going through it now.
I heard that “conversion” still means having to go through the full interview process with the hiring bar still set pretty high. There is no “back door”, so to speak, same as in Google.
Why would there be a backdoor? You were already at facebook in some capacity. I’m surprised they won’t grill you more and ask you to get into the details of the project.
There could be a backdoor if the team that that you worked on contract wants to hire you full time. Some people think that 6 month real world experience counts more than 6 hours leet code interviews which is why the backdoor existed
