Is there anyone who still believes that this will have mimimal impact on economy and jobs and everything will be back to normal like Dec 2019 by early next year ? #covid-19 #coronavirus
70% of jobs are in the service sector. None of those jobs exist right now. Have not heard a reasonably answer as to why unemployment wouldn’t get that high.
Its gonna get pretty bad. Doesn't help we have a complete moron in office to 'lead' us. The only upside to this whole thing is that it might actually wake up not just the country but the whole world to the importance of knowledge, science & expertise. Actual truths.
It won’t be as bad as 2008. Government won’t let it get that bad. They would rather everyone get sick and things be open than the economy completely collapsing.
"Worse than", not "Worst than".

Amidst mass layoffs the US govt allows companies to hire Visa Workers without proving they first tried hiring US workers
A lot of my friends are already getting laid off here in FL (non tech, mostly marketing/business majors). I don't think it'll have an impact on most tech companies though, specifically SAAS/Software companies should be safe. Places like Uber, AirBnB, WeWork, Turo, etc... that are providing a service through software instead of a software as a service or just software in general will be and probably are already being affected. This is going to be an incredibly bumpy ride for most people.
I hope god gives strength to all of us to get over this even stronger and sooner !!
WeWork already folded after that IPO fiasco.
