Coronavirus impacting MSFT interview decisions?

I interviewed onsited for MSFT azure team in Redmond, WA last Friday (Feb 28). It went pretty good. The manager said I should expect something by Wednesday (March 4). Haven't gotten anything yet. Contacted the recruiter but no response received. The job portal still shows "interview" as the status. Hasn't been changed to "not selected" What do you guys think of this ?

Everyone is out of office and absolute shit at answering emails. Internal emails don't even get answered in a timely respectable manner. Be patient.

Yes it could as most of the employees are wfh

We don't even know if/when NEOs will take place. There are currently a lot of unanswered questions regarding new hires. As others have mentioned, be patient. You can reach out to your recruiter with questions.

@microsoft, are you manager at Microsoft?

Qualtrics dontneedit Mar 6, 2020

I got an offer and my bg check just finished. Have no idea what's going on. Especially worries because I have no health insurance. Hope they can do a limited NEO with just handing out laptops and i9 and we can get ramped up/sign up for insurance/set up machine while wfh

When did you accept the offer?

Accolade coronaIAm Mar 6, 2020

@qualtrics, which team are you joining and role? Did you reach out to recruiter?

Don’t give up. Everything in HR has been pushed back. You can circle back to thank them or ask the status.

Interviewed at a hiring event with MSFT azure team on Monday 3/2. I did get a reject, but the entire process was a bit of a mess due to coronavirus. Number of interviews dropped from 4 to 3, and it seemed like other candidates I kept in contact with didn't get offers either. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a delay due to this.

It’s unfortunate that you didn’t get offer. How was the interview? Any system design?

BAE Systems rdxp10 Mar 7, 2020

Interview was alright, but no systems design. I got the impression that they were looking for a C/C++ systems software developer which I didn't have a background in. Got a reject with encouragement to apply to other positions.

Same, I interviewed on Feb 14th and was told 10 business days I should hear back. I also was an employee referral. Emailed recruiter for a follow up and nothing back so far. No rejection letter yet though so no idea lol.
