Was that just me or most of guys have same feeling: Costco is really a thief of your wallet nowadays , from Cherry / fruit to ribeye/pork, they are really -THE MOST EXPENSIVE- store in the grocery industry , and I have to buy bulk pack instead of the size I want, Instead local grocery store such as Safeway and Lucky nowadays is much cheaper , I bought many food I want in Safeway and Lucky, and they are insanely cheaper than Costco. Especially when you want to buy meat. I want to cancel membership from Costco and subscribe Safeway
You’re doing it wrong. If you don’t need those quantities, Costco is when you need big purchases and then you cancel.
This, and specifically for big purchases when it's likely you might want to do a return.
I have a family of 4 and costco is incredible. If you are single and going to costco you are being wasteful.
Just gas fillings itself will be enough to cover your membership costs. It is on Ave 40-50c cheaper per gallon
Well, if you live in sf, there’s no gas. I don’t know where op is, of course
It used to be, lately I’ve found Safeway being cheaper even without rewards. So like everything just check current prices, it’s available in google maps.
I’ll buy my stuff from Costco that I can freeze or lasts a long time such as: Yogurt, meat, chips, nuts, drinks, frozen veggies, coffee, etc. I buy everything else at a local grocery. Costco is only one of the tools of your arsenal for food shopping. And the cheap gas!
Costco has an amazing return policy. They’ll take anything back so if you’re getting electronics or something like that, you can get it there and know that you will have a place to return it if you don’t like it or it is faulty
Are you been living in a rock for the last years? We are having an inflation just fyi. (Is not Costco)
The meat at Costco is better quality than that of other grocery stores. Look up the diff between USDA prime, choice, and select. Once you get to know the difference you will never buy select again. MOST grocery stores sell select, and when they DO sell USDA prime or choice it's far more expensive than Costco.
Also, yes the reason for the current high prices is due to the grain and fertilizer shortage because the war in Ukraine. Costco's markup (10% avg) is still the best standard in the industry. It is the low markup that makes Costco the best option for me. I will not pay more to get less...
It’s called the Cost Corporation. What did you expect?
Are you sure you are comparing apples to apples? At Costco, you have to buy larger sizes but the cost per oz/lb (or per unit) is usually going to be cheaper than at a regular supermarket. Fruit and meat is definitely cheaper at Costco. At the end of the day if you feel you are being robbed, cancel the membership and don’t buy there, they won’t miss you

'Hindutva': The Radical Hindu Ideology That Seeks to 'Push Christianity Out of India’
Costco is fine for a family of 4. Idk why single people go to Costco. Better to buy a small quantity of things and buy often for freshness.
That's why I have a deep freezer...
