Counter offer Evaluation
Asking for friend who is in Apple and received FANG offer. He is expecting counter offer from his current team in Apple -- and he wants to know how the counter offer works? Would he get Bonus or just increase in base/RSU/Refresher, if Apple counters. He has an offer TC 435K in FANG. What Apple can offer ? Current TC at Apple 355K - IC4
Just have a number in mind for which you will stay back and ask for that. If apple can't do it, move on.
Apple will not counter.
Career suicide since your friend will be replaced if he shows his cards. You either leave or don’t. Counter offers are temporary stays.

He is "expecting" a counter offer or they "officially" told him he will be getting a counter offer? That's a major difference. And tbh none of us can answer what the breakdown is going to be. I don't know of anyone who received a counter while in Apple.
Officially told him. He shared the news and manager has set up a meeting on Monday of the what Apple can offer

Honestly I highly doubt Apple will counter in the current condition. I am ICT4 with 420k TC. About to jump to another FAANG with 470k TC and planning on giving my notice in 3 weeks. Don’t think Apple will try to counter TBH.
You are jumping for 50K?
Not everyone jumps for TC 😀. I am jumping more for opportunity, new things to learn, growth. And also to avoid cliff but that’s secondary.
